If Pokemon GO players click on their player icon photo at the bottom-left corner of the main home screen, they can check out their Medal collection underneath Gym Badges. The top Medal section has tasks for various things, like trainers catching Pokemon from a particular region, battling gyms, and Mega Evolving Pokemon.

During the Pokemon GO 7th Anniversary Party event going on now, players can head to the in-game shop to purchase the Masterwork Research called All-in-One #151. And by completing the tasks, Pokemon GO players will have a chance to capture a Shiny Mew, among other rewards. There are four lengthy steps to get through; the first might give players the most trouble.

How to Get Platinum Kanto Medal

To get the Platinum Kanto Medal in Pokemon GO, trainers must register all 151 Pokemon in the Pokedex from the Kanto region. To check progress in completing this task, players can hit the Poke Ball at the center of the map screen, click on Pokedex, and then look at the top of the screen to check out the number above ‘Kanto.’ Scrolling down the Kanto section of the Pokedex will show the missing Pokemon.

This can take players quite some time, especially when catching some of the more elusive monsters in the ‘dex, like Mew, Mewtwo, Articuno, Moltres, and Zapdos. Luckily, as long as players purchase the ticket from the store, this special Research Story will not expire, so Shiny Mew will not be going anywhere.

Below, we’ll share how players can catch some of the harder-to-get Pokemon to obtain the Platinum Kanto Medal:

Mewtwo – Cannot be caught at this moment. Players must wait for a special event or a featured raid battle.
Mew – The only way to get Mew right now (besides from the Masterwork Research) is to complete the special research called ‘A Mythical Discovery.’ There are eight steps, and the seventh step rewards players with a Mew encounter.
Zapdos, Moltres, Articuno – These legendary birds are featured in Pokemon GO Raid Battles until July 13, 10 am local time.
